Sips & Tips: Kosta Browne

October 18 - October 24

Our October Somm Series will feature two incredible wines from Kosta Browne winery. Stop by any of our three Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab locations October 18-24 and treat yourself to a glass, or two.

Dan Kosta and Michael Browne began their winemaking journey in 1997 while working together at a popular restaurant in Santa Rosa, California. From their humble beginning to becoming one of California’s most highly sought after wineries, their journey has been an epic adventure. Following the Burgundian model of producing monovarietal wines, the Kosta Browne, One-Sixteen, Chardonnay, Russian River Valley, California ($30 per 6oz / $120 per bottle) has a core of apple and pear, with aromas of jasmine and persimmon, creating a great match for our Potato Crusted Flounder with Melted Leeks and Caviar.

Obsessed with the challenge of making the best California Pinot Noir, the duo made their first with grapes from the Russian River Valley in Sonoma. The portfolio now stretches from Anderson Valley in the north to the Central Coast Sta. Rita Hills, where Kosta Browne, Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills, California ($40 per 6oz / $160 per bottle) is produced. The Sta. Rita Hills appellation benefits significantly from the maritime influence of the Pacific Ocean, the effects of which can be found in the enticing red fruit and notes of spice. This versatile pinot works perfectly in tandem with our Salmon Au Poivre.
